BITSAT 2026: Course Overview

BITSAT is a computer-based entrance examination conducted for admission to integrated first-degree programs at BITS Pilani. The exam assesses candidates in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, along with English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. Successful candidates gain direct admission to BE, BPharm, or integrated MSc programs without any separate entrance tests.

Purpose

Merit-based selection for undergraduate engineering, pharmacy, and science courses.

Validity

Scores valid only for BITS campuses in 2026-27 academic year.

Total Seats

Approximately 2,040 across all campuses (BE: 1,800+, BPharm: 130, MSc: 110).

Eligibility Criteria (2026)

As per official notification; must be appearing/passed Class 12 in 2026.

General
  • Passed Class 12 in 2025 or appearing in 2026 from a recognized board.
  • Minimum 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) for BE; 75% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) for BPharm.
  • Minimum 60% in each of Physics, Chemistry, and PCM/PCB subjects.
Age Limit
  • Born on or after July 1, 2004 (no upper limit specified).
Attempts
  • Maximum two consecutive years post-Class 12.
Nationality
  • Indian citizens; international students via direct applications.

Exemptions: Board toppers with 75% aggregate get direct admission to any program.

Online test; no negative marking for English/LR.

Exam Duration & Marking Scheme

  • Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes).
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +3 marks for correct answer.
    • -1 mark for incorrect answer.
    • 0 marks for unattempted.
  • Extra Questions: If all 130 answered correctly within time, 12 bonus questions (3 each from PCM/PCB, 3 English/LR) for +36 marks max.

Physics

Mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, optics, modern physics, semiconductors, and waves based on NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus.

Chemistry

Physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry including bonding, reactions, electrochemistry, biomolecules, polymers, and chemistry in everyday life.

Maths / Bio

Mathematics covers algebra, calculus, geometry, vectors, probability; Biology includes genetics, physiology, reproduction, ecology fundamentals.

English

Grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, sentence correction, composition skills, and language usage for effective communication assessment.

Reasoning

Verbal and non-verbal reasoning including analogies, series, puzzles, logical patterns, and data interpretation to test analytical thinking.

Visit bitsadmission.com and click on "Apply for BITSAT 2026". Enter your email ID, mobile number, and create a password to register.

2 Step 2
Fill Application Form

Enter personal details such as name, date of birth, and address. Provide academic details including Class 10 and 12 marks, and select up to three preferred test centers.

3 Step 3
Upload Documents

Upload your photograph (10–200 KB, JPEG), signature (4–30 KB), and Class 10 certificate as per the prescribed specifications.

4 Step 4
Select Program & Session

Choose your preferred program (BE, BPharm, or MSc) and select Session 1, Session 2, or both sessions as per your preference.

5 Step 5
Preview & Pay

Carefully review all entered details and proceed to pay the application fee online using available
payment modes.

6 Step 6
Submit Application

Submit the application form to generate your application number. Download and save the application PDF for future reference.

7 Step 7
Slot Booking

After registration, book your exam slot by selecting the preferred date and time. Slot booking is done on a first-come, first-served basis.
