JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria – Updated by NTA

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2025. Here's a clear and structured breakdown for all aspirants.

1. Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have passed their Class 12th or equivalent exam in 2023 or 2024.
  • Those appearing in Class 12th in 2025 are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have studied at least five subjects, including Physics and Mathematics.
2. Age Limit Criteria
  • There is no upper age limit for JEE Main 2025.
  • However, candidates must meet the age requirements (if any) specified by the institute(s) they are applying to (like IITs, NITs, or CFTIs).
3. Minimum Percentage Required
  • To be eligible for admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates must secure:
    • Minimum 75% marks in Class 12th board exams (or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards).
    • For SC/ST candidates, the minimum required marks are 65%.
4. Number of Attempts
  • A candidate can appear in JEE Main twice in a year – Session 1 (January) and Session 2 (April).
  • A student is allowed to attempt the exam for a maximum of three consecutive years – i.e., six total attempts.
5. Language Proficiency (Medium of Exam)

JEE Main 2025 will be conducted in 13 regional languages to ensure accessibility for all students.
